I have been making music videos since I was at college, both professionally and as part of my studies all the way up through university.
​
Nowadays, myself and Ben Robertson over at Influence Studios shoot music videos for smaller artists looking to get high quality but reasonably priced videos for their songs.
Yung Yorkie - Double Standards
This is the first original music video I created since graduating from university, and of course it had to be with Kia Brailsford, AKA 'Yung Yorkie'. This music video was shot by Ben Robertson and I's production company, "Influence Studios".
We had a great cast and crew to shoot this video; Ben Robertson directing, Leo Green as Director of Photography, myself as 1st AC, Oli Goodsir as 2nd AC, Amman Tariq coming on board as a camera trainee while he studies at university and Kai Rhodes capturing all the behind the scenes content.

We had a big cast due to the ambitious concepts we wanted to achieve, and they all did a fantastic job. Notably Dan and Tristan from Ben and I's 2nd year short film, "Sinister Sales".
Anthea Drive - Blood Money
This is the first original music video I have ever created, and of course that had to be with THE Anthea Drive. My most loyal customers. This one has a fun backstory to it. Two of my university modules during third year required me to either shoot or edit a music video; Anthea Drive and I had already talked about shooting one for one of their new songs, so this worked out perfectly! We wanted to create an absolute banger of a performance video for their first ever music video... Safe to say I think we accomplished exactly that. We shot with the Arri Alexa XT in two locations in one afternoon: The Jam Factory, their pre-gig rehearsal space, and then The Fulford Arms, where they absolutely smashed it at the Battle of the Bands event.
I had other crew with me to help out: Ben Robertson as my 1st AC and Leo Green as Gaffer.
Kieron Smith Music Video
I 1st ACed on a music video under DoP Rich Bertenshaw for Kieron Smith in and around MediaCityUK locations.

Directed by Ste Brannigan, a crew made up of professional heads of department supported by students from the University of Salford Film Production and TV and Radio courses worked over a weekend to complete this awesome music video.

This shoot was my first time shooting on an Arri Amira, which I controlled using my phone connecting to its on-board WiFi. It was also the first time I was able to use the 1st AC kit I got for Christmas '22.
Joel Philpott - When I need you
I also 1st ACed and briefly operated the camera on a music video under DoP Ben Robertson for a music student by the name of Joel Philpott from the University of Salford. We shot in a number of really awesome locations across the North West of England.

These locations included Formby beach and forest, which were gorgeous of the cold Autumn temperatures, MediaCityUK and a golf course on a hill overlooking the city of Manchester.

We shot the video with the Arri Alexa XT over a number of shoot days. The video was shot and directed by Ben Robertson, lighting by Leo Green, focus pulled by myself and edited and colour graded by Oliver Neate. Additional crew: Oli Goodsir

Both myself and Leo operated the camera on separate occasions.. I operated during the forest scene, Leo operated during the shots within the water.
